How to Use Sol U Guard Botanical Disinfectant

Many people, including myself and their pets, are very sensitive to toxic cleaners such as bleach, ammonia, detergents, fabric softeners, Lysol spray, air fresheners, plus other products when cleaning the bathroom.  Poisonous products can burn eyes and sinuses, cause severe headaches, and can even cause dizziness, nausea, weakness, and severe illness.  [Resource] [Resource]

I wanted to use household products that are safer and less harmful than the typical household cleaners you find in the grocery store and drug store today.   I was also looking for safer cleaners that did not require me to do so much scrubbing, yet still cleaned effectively.

So I started using S ol-U-Guard Botanical in 2007 to disinfect my bathroom. It was such a relief to use a household cleaner that didn't burn my eyes and sinuses after opening the cap and pouring it out.  It didn't even make me feel sick, and didn't require me to do so much scrubbing!  I also didn't have to worry about the fumes caused by cleaning the bathroom, harming my pet birds.  I didn't want any toxic residue left on my bird's cages, after disinfecting them, that could cause harm to my birds.

Sol-U-Guard Botanical is a naturally based concentrated disinfectant made from citric acid, detergents, solvents (water), and thyme oil. Sol-U-Guard kills 99.9% of all household germs on hard, non-porous surfaces.  All you do is spray, let sit for 10 minutes, dry with a clean towel if needed, or let air dry.

Feel confident that harmful bacteria, mold, and viruses are killed within 10 minutes of the mixture sitting on non-porous surfaces in your bathroom.  The mold scrubs off easily if it's very thick and thin sections of mold disappears after being sprayed with Sol-U-Guard Botanical and sitting for 10 minutes on hard surfaces.

Sol-U-Guard Botanical comes in a times x2 concentrated bottle (The concentrate makes 2 mixing spray bottles of Sol-U-Guard Botanical .) Mix 8 oz. of Sol-U-Guard concentrate with 8 oz. of water.  There are fill lines on the side of the mixing spray bottle to help guide you when filling the Sol-U-Guard Botanical mixture.

Disinfect the toilet, sink, floor, tiles, bathtub, and shower with Sol-U-Guard Botanical on a weekly or monthly basis and more than once a week depending on the need.

First:

• • Start with the mirrors and windows. Use a non-toxic glass cleaner with no ammonia, such as non-toxic window cleaner and a microfiber cloth.  A microfiber cloth will prevent dust that paper towels cause and help save trees.
  • Clean the counter tops and work your way down. Spray with Sol-U-Guard Botanical and let sit for 10 minutes to disinfect.  If you have wood or laminated cabinets, use a non-toxic furniture polish.

• • Spray the top of the toilet tank, handle, toilet seat – both sides of the toilet seat, toilet bowl, and the inside and outside of the toilet bowl.  Let sit for 10 minutes and scrub the inside of the toilet bowl, with a scrub brush, to get rid of rust and mold.  I also spray a little non-toxic tub and tile cleaner to help get rid of the rust.  Wipe the outside of the toilet with a clean damp rag and let air dry or dry with a clean towel.  You may have to wipe off the everything more than once, rinse the cloth, and wipe it again a few times depending on the amount of dust that accumulated.

• • Spray the floor around the toilet area as well, plus the toilet plunger and scrub brush.

• • Let sit for 10 minutes for the ingredients to disinfect entirely and rinse and wipe off with clean rags.

• • Scrub away stubborn rust or mold. Sol-U-Guard Botanical will help get rid of rust as well as mold.

• • Your bathroom will also have a fresh, clean scent and Sol-U-Guard Botanical will get rid of any moldy, musty smells.

• Spray your entire bathroom floor with Sol-U-Guard Botanical and let sit for 10 minutes to kill 99.9% of all germs.  Wipe off dirt with a clean damp rag, rinse in the sink and repeat until done.  Let the floor air dry are dry with a clean towel.

Next:

• Spray the all of tiles, bathtub,  and shower inside and outside and let sit for 10 minutes to disinfect and kill stubborn mold.
• For stubborn soap scum and hard water stains, spray with a non-toxic tub and tile cleaner  with citric acid that will melt away soap scum and hard water stains with minimal scrubbing.  Both of this products are plant-derived and biodegradable.
• Rinse until all soap is washed down the drain.
• Dry with a clean towel if desired or let air dry
• Make sure to wash your rags and towels with a non-toxic washing detergent.
• Clean your wood and/or laminates with non-toxic furniture polish.
• Last, wipe off the floor around where you polished your bathroom furniture to prevent slipping.  Use a non-toxic cleaner or which is really great at removing anything slippery from surfaces.  I use a non-toxic kitchen cleaner on my greasy stoves top.
• Spray your sink to disinfect after rinsing off rags in it.  Let it sit for 10 minutes and air dry.
